CUltural creations on display at citizens bank

International Institute Rhode Island is proud to announce that Citizens Bank, one of International Institute Rhode Island's strongest supporters, is the first organization in Rhode Island to host the Cultural Creations Art Exhibit through September at their Jefferson Boulevard location.

Cultural Creations is a unique art collection that:

• Preserves the global spirits and memories of our state’s newcomers
• Educates the community on cultural understanding
• Celebrates the rich cultural heritage of our state

In 1998 there was a cultural and artistic fusion when Erminio Pinque, founder of Big Nazo Lab, began a workshop with International Institute Rhode Island students, staff, board members, and volunteers, along with artists from the International Gallery, to create larger than life paintings on cardboard celebrating cultures from around the world.

Today the art exhibit known as Cultural Creations has grown to almost 200 uniquely designed images. Many of these images have been transferred to colorful banners in order to preserve a piece of Rhode Island’s art history for all to enjoy at special events, parades, festivals, exhibits, and now, Citizens Bank.
